The roles we provide
Medieval: 1100AD - 1485AD
The Knight Hospitaller
General overview of the Order and it’s place and role in medieval life. Includes a general outline of healthcare and the idea of pilgrimage
Military Monks
Introduction to the concept of the Military Orders and details on the Military history of the Order. Includes arms and armour, life in a castle and the Crusades.
Tudor: 1530AD - 1588AD
Order of St John
The Order of St John post reformation and it’s relationship to the Protestant parts of Europe, in particular England’s reaction to the siege of Malta in 1565.
The Jesuits in England
The reformation and it’s effects and the role of the Catholic order of priests, The Jesuits. Includes the run up to the Spanish Armada, and The Inquisition. (1588AD)
What happened to the Monks
The dissolution of the monasteries and what happened to the monks. In this case the monk finds a new life as a hurdle maker. (1540AD)
